Dear Parents and Community Members: Ironwood is rated an Exemplary School earning an A from the Arizona Department of Education. We are also a Community of Caring school where we work with our families and community to teach and practice five core values: Caring, Respectful, Responsibility, Trust and Family. We care about developing your child’s academic and social emotional skills. I am a product of the Washington Elementary School District. As a child, I attended Richard E. Miller, Royal Palm and Palo Verde. I started my career as an educator in 1989 teaching at Ocotillo and John Jacobs where I taught and coached teachers. In 2011, I became an administrator at Shaw Butte and then have been at Ironwood since 2013 where I have had the privilege of working with a wonderful group of caring educators and families. Ironwood is a special place with a wonderful community. You have many opportunities to get involved whether it is being a part of our PTO or helping make decisions serving on our Site Council. I welcome you and hope you reach out. I strive to uphold the mission and values of our district and our school and believe that every child deserves a quality education in a safe environment where all staff members foster the well-being of the students we serve. I value your input and please know that I am available to answer your questions, listen to your feedback, engage in discussion, or simply chat about your child. I have an open-door policy and truly believe that parents and guardians are children’s first and most important teacher. You have a choice in your child’s education, and I would like to personally thank you for choosing Ironwood Elementary. I look forward to meeting all of you! It is going to be an AMAZING year for the Thunderbolts! I look forward to working together to meet the needs of your child Polly Schultz Proud Principal |
